FJ Cruisers of Northern California

So I've come to realize that I don't really have a compartment to store my loose change in my FJ.  It's basically everywhere right now: under the car, in my cup-holder, in that slot that I don't know what it's used for.  I thought about getting one of those portable coin storage for cars, but I don't want to use up premium cup-holder space.  Just wondering what everyone else here uses to store their loose change.  One bad thing about a smoke-free vehicle is the absence of an ashtray to throw your coins in.

I just throw coins in the cup holder. Cups go right on top, no problem.

i second that. the cup holder allows easy access for my taco bell and dollar menu addiction.

I keep my change in my pocket

X2

Every day, I take my change (if I have any) and toss it in a decorative vase in the house.  A week before I go on a vacation, it gets counted and converted to bills.  Then goes toward a special dinner while on the trip.  It isn't a ton of money, but its always a nice surprise--especially if I salt it a bit with a couple bills waded up near the bottom that I forget about as they get covered up.

When I was younger in So. Cal., I filled up a Sparklets water bottle with change.  Seemed like it took years.  I don't recall what it came out to be, but I remember feeling like a rich man when I cashed it in!

That's great! I actually keep them in a jar, too, but since I'm too lazy to convert them into bills myself, I give them all to my mom since she's the type of lady that counts every penny and hands it to the cashier.

I guess I got used to leaving them in my ashtray when I had a 2-door coupe.  Now, I've been throwing them in my cup-holder, but they've been accumulating so much.  Time to use the center compartment...

Yeah, get one of the Industrial Forming sliding covers, and fill that puppy up with change.  Then have mom make a run at it!  ;-)

If you have change loose or otherwise, you have not competed the required number of mods to your FJC.  Put the loose change in the driver side dash glove box until you can fill a few coin rolls.  Then on with the mod (or make a payment on the mod).

hahahahaha

Drivers side dash box.

there are 2 places I keep my money... change goes in the dash box... bills for an emergency or to "forget about" until the next time I'm seriously cleaning out the FJ (every 4-6 months) go in the cup holder-underneath the insert. That way it's out of sight and at times I actually do forget about it.

I bought the optional Toyota ash tray and put it in one of the small divider compartments in the console "bucket" container.

It fits right in one of the slots and when I have change I just reach down flip it open and drop in the change.

When it gets full I just pop it out and dump the change in my gas tank. : )...or a coin sorter.
