About 2-month ago, I bought a knock off J2534 Mongoose USB cable. Over the weekend, I subscribed to a 2-day access to TIS website to download the latest TechStream software version 7.12 and able to generate the key code.
I started playing with it and so far, I was able to customized the following;
- remote door unlock with one press of the unlock button
- changed the dome/interior lights auto turn off delay
- removed/turned off the (beep) buzzer sound when you armed or disarmed the alarm system
Very few data list/options that can be customized (2-day Professional subscription) for 2007 model, will try the other model year's data list this weekend.

Interesting....
Yup, you can also disable the seatbelt buzzers and program new TPMS sensors :)
That's pretty cool.
How much does something like that cost?
Nice!
Hi guys, I re-read my owners manual on this subject because I knew I had come acroos this in the past. Not sure why you would want to spend money and time on the cable etc, when according my 2012 manual P.507, all of these customizable features can be performed by a local dealer. I like the sound of several options, ie all locks open with one "unlock" press on the key.
I have not called the local dealer yet on these items, but would they charge that much if you where already in there for a service?
Steve.
Local dealer uses this software and a Toyota branded cable to do this. For me it's worth $60 to be able to do as much or as little as I want/need when I want/need to do it. Some dealers charge to change the customizable features, some dont. The manual doesn't say they have to do it for free, just that they can do it.
Additionally if you buy it then you have access to monitor, test and reset all the same funtions the dealer has. If that capability doesn't interest you though, I'm sure your local dealer will be glad to charge you to perorm those tasks.
