(Confirmed) Eldorado National Forest will be closed to 4x4's for 2012

Eldorado Announcement

Just had this sent to me. I am scouring the interwebs for more information and will update this post as I read and gather more information. To confirm or bust this information. I'm hoping it's a bad joke.

From pirate4x4's land use forum

It may sound dramatic.

I'm suing Toyota because they didn't warn me my FJ Cruiser was going to make me a fat alcoholic smoker!

And my coffee is too hot. And I have low self esteem that can only be cured by owning an off road vehical.

Chicks love the truck man.

Silent running is not a 70's sci fi movie...it's a documentary!

I think these guys have really exposed the conspiracy.

I WANT COMPENSATION!!!

Kumbaya man...kumbaya!

 Bwaaaahaaahaaa! : D

No seriously. What a joke.

On a serious note.

Where do they have tread lightly classes.

I think I would like to sign up for one.

George Wuerthner

Mr. "Thrillcraft"

Yes, he looks like he will ruin everyones day !

Not sure when the next Tred Lightly! class will happen.

To be honest, we hardly had anyone show up for our classes in the past so I think we both lost interest. Neither of us has lots of extra time to put in these classes for no one to show up.. If we could get some interest I would be willing to put on another class, but there has to lots of people that WILL show up..

Last class we had only one person that showed up and he is a friend of mine..

I went to the first class last year & was disappointed in the NorCal turnout. I think there were only about 3 of us, and a handful of other folks. Boss & Tater put on a great presentation, so it was sad having a small crowd. Environmental groups, like the Sierra Club, have many members donating time & money. We can’t just complain, we need to fight back if we want continued access to our trails.Join one or all of these groups. Donate if you can. Unfortunately, money rules, not logic.

True... true.

Thanks for this info. I'm gonna check it out.

This is a great post. This is one of the only ways to get the message out about this sort of thing.

I didn't realize things were this critical against the off road community.

This guy seems like he wants to shut down all the park systems.

Well I can respect  that.

For what it's worth depending on when it would be I'm in.

Thanks man.
