I have had a weird "creaking" sound in my driver side rear door when I go over bumps for awhile.
The thing is it only does it when it's hot out. 75+ degrees. Totally silent below that temp.
When I got back from Fireworks From Above last year it didn't do it for a week then it slowly came back.
Almost as if flexing the frame over the rocks had an effect on it. I was going to pull the panel some day and check it out because I'm pretty sure the Toyota guys probably won't be able to find it.
I wonder if it's related to the seat belt thing. Hmmm.
Wonder if anybody else has had this problem?

Oh brother : (   Is your rig haunted?

----------------------

Have you checked in the locking mechanism for the back door (silver hoop and the Black female side) for sand or trail goo all up-in-there?

Dude! My rig could be haunted! : )

Maybe I need to hire a priest.

Of course it could be goo also.

Sounds kind of plastic though.

I'll check it out.

just grease the hinge bud its prob just dry.

I'll check the hinge.

Seems like it's a little more forward toward the drivers window but it's worth a try.

The bummer is it only does it when the weather is hot.

It's like chasing a ghost!

: )

I have the same problem that's been driving me absolutely crazy. I checked the rear door hinges, latch, spare tire, etc. I finally (well my daughter pin pointed the sound) found the irritating squeeking/creaking sound over bumps. It's the passenger side back seat. I don't know exactly what is causing it yet but I'm thinking it's something to do with the hinges or latches on that. Maybe that's where your sound is coming from too. I do know guys who have sounds that do come from the rear door, that's where I got the idea to check all the components. But, for me, it's the darn seat. I'm going to put it down tomorrow and see if I have the sound.

I've got a similar sound coming from what seems like the back , possibly the stock sub area but I checked everything and couldn't find it.  The sound seems to go away if someone was actually sitting in the rear passenger seat but I wasn't able to pinpoint it.  I've taken mine to the dealer a couple of times while still under warranty and of course the sound never "presented itself" during the test drives with the mechanics :(

There has been a recall for 2007- 2010 FJC. Its the mounts for the seat belts int he rear doors that can cause cracks around the mounting point. May be a reach but perhaps it has something to do with that.

I didn't think about that. It could have put some uneccessary stress on the rear side doors. Maybe the sound wasn't coming from the seat but the hinges right by the rear passenger seat......it's worth a look. thanks Boss

I need to loook at mine also. I guess I could just take it and let the stealership fix it..
