FEEDBACK ON MAXXIS TREPADOR BIGHORN AND CREEPY CRAWLER TIRES

Hey Guys!! How are you all doing??

As some of you guys know already I went back to France to take over the family business (I ship my FJ though ;-). Our company distributes tires in France and Western Europe. We also have about 100 retail stores (Big O Tires Type) in France.

Today we have the opportunity to sell MAXXIS tires in France. MAXXIS is famous in the US for offroad vehicles but not as developped in Europe. That is why I am coming to you! I would like to have your feedback on MAXXIS TREPADOR, BIGHORN, and CREEPY CRAWLER if you have ever used them on your FJ!

Thank you all for your help!

Cheers,

Yo Cedric! Never used any of them, just dropping in to say hi.
Hey Ray!! I hope you're doing good! I miss California so bad!

Thanks for the reply!

Take care

Ced
I wondered where you were. Are you ever coming back? We originally met at Man-A-Fre.
Hi Cedric!
I still have the original tires so I cannot help you. Maybe the blue room has more people with diverse experiences.

Anyway: in case I am in France (I've been to Germany and Poland recently) and I have a problem to a tire, where do you suggest I go to have it fixed? :)
Hey Alessio,

If you're in France you email and we'll try to see each other! You know that I leave not far from Milano!

For an eventual tire issue in France, don't worry, we'll get it fixe!

Take care buddy
Sorry I am no help on either of these. Like Pit just want to say hi..

But I am glad to see that your doing great back home..

Let us know if you ever come out to Cali again..

Maybe post this on the blue room and see if someone has feedback for ya
Maxxis tires are good though I've never had the pleasure of owning a set I have see them perform very well on the trail. Can you post a link? or photo?
I haven't used any of the tired you mention. I've used BF, Nitto, and am now a Pro-Comp man. IMO you get more bang for your buck and mileage wise I always got more use out of them as well. I think that if the brands you mention are at a fair price and seem well built give them a shot and let your customers decide. Good luck!
Hey Guys!!

Thank you so much for all your imputs!! It is really nice to have some news from California!!

I agree josh, this brand needs to be priced significantly lower than BFGOODRIDGE. I think that we are going to give it a shot in France!

Again, thanks for your inputs ;-) I'll try to come soon to say hi!

Take care guys,

Ced
you could always have special introductory pricing for the folks attending the first European FJ Summit in a few weeks! ;-)
Hey my friend how are you doing??

It is a really good idea! But we won't be ready to distribute the brand yet. I think we'll be ready in January. There is a huge price negociation with the manufacturer before ;-)
I have Maxxis Bighorns (255/85 R-16) and love them. They were cheap,$125 per and have been great on and off road. Well, except for the time I ran over a pair of pliers and one of the handles went straight through the tread...yes...f'ing pliers. Other than that, my only complaint is they seem to have a lot of rotational resistance and gas milage suffers. I am not the typical case, my FJC is supercharged, has 4.88s and the Bighorns don't help any....14 mpg is about what I get.

Much better than my other sets of tires:
Super Swamper LTBs = Noisy, Extremely rough ride (bias ply) and chunking.
Super Swamper SSRs = Still noisy, cracked sidewalls after 8,000 miles, even more chunking.
BFG AT KOs= Great road tire and decent off road if you don't mind sliced up side walls, horrible wet weather handling.
Stock Bridgestones= bring teh suck
