Event Description

Ok everyone it’s that time of the year again and since FJCook has moved on with his military career he has made me unofficial planner of this year’s step~cal spring fling. We are going to be having it again at Jawbone and Red Rock state parks. The parks have trails for all types and skills of driver. We will be doing the last chance canyon run again on Saturday.

We will meet on Friday the 3rd at 5pm at the Denny's in Mojave. The address is:

16262 Sierra Highway
Mojave, CA 93501

The Camp site will remain at the same spot as last year (35.322119, -118.077812).
Comms will be on channel 31 for the entire trip also if you have the small hand held then that will be on channel 7.31.
There should be enough spots for everyone to camp. We are going to need some firewood so if you could bring some that would be wonderful. If someone has an easy up or some sort of shade there are no trees there for shade (we are in the desert).
Once we are out at the camp site there isn’t any cell reception. So if you are going to be late getting out there I would let us know beforehand.
I hope to make this year’s event and awesome one like the last 2 years have been.
Here are some pics from last year.

Trails for all abilities and a few spots in Last Chance Canyon that those daring can try like the Vnotch. I don't have my book but I think Wheeler ridge is just west of Isabella lake and rated difficult. Trails and adventure for all!

only if the Gnomes want to! for the most part its just a nice trail. Bald Mt is more difficult than this.

Is this trip only for hard core storm chaser types? : )
