Sounds like a great class Steve..

I am interested but I need to make sure I am able to go.. Sounds like good info for those of us who are still figuring things out.. I will let you know..

I did not see anything about cost. Is it free?
Here's the info I got:

Cupertino OES and CARES are hosting an "Introduction to Emergency Communications" class on 21-Nov. This is the first of 2 introductory classes for new hams who are interested in getting involved with Emergency Communications.
Date: Saturday, 21-Nov-09
Time: Sign-in starts at 8:15am, Class starts promptly at 8:30am and runs until 12:00pm
Logistics: Bring your radio and manual if you have one

Cost: Free (donations eagerly accepted for coffee and donuts)

while too rudimentary for me I would propose that after your done we get together at St Johns say 1pm and we can talk about what you learned and other stuff that goes along with HAM.
