ha! i'm maximizing Windows Movie Maker (free) at the moment. it all depends on how in-depth you want to edit. for me, the only thing i am missing on WMM is multiple audio tracks and more title/credit options. i'd like to upgrade to Premiere or Vegas eventually (when i utilize my camera's HD capabilities), but i like riding stock before i feel truly limited. DaveF2 mentioned Corel VideoStudio is free for trial on their website if you want to try it.

Tater, what software are you using to edit videos ?

do you have experience with premiere elements ? is it worth anything ?
i used full version of premiere years ago and I liked it but i am not eager to spend hundreds of $$$ for it now
