FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Deer Valley WET Sunday the 3rd, 2010

Deer Valley Trail. We headed out Sunday after setting up camp in the middle of a rainstorm. Apparently it pays to check the forecast prior to heading into the Sierras... After slipping and sliding on every wet rock, we were able to get through with all three FJs and were rewarded with a beautiful drive on open fire roads which crossed the Pacific Crest trail and plunged into one of the most colorful fall landscapes I have seen in a long time. Thanks to everyone who spotted and offered humor and encouragement at the many challenging and wet obstacles. It was a blast to be out with fellow FJ drivers/friends, and my two year old daughter had a blast.

Uggh! Now it will take too long! LOL I realized when I went to download the short one that it cut the size in half when I converted it to put it on the page. Next time I won't give up so easy! (and I wont be so tired). Thanks for the help and I'll definitely take you up on it next video so I can subject people to more weird donkey footage... moohaahaa...

8mb? you can upload up to approximately 97mb. there are ways to downsize, so let me know if you need assistance so you can post up your true vision.

Thanks! Yes it was definitely raining and cold. The Jeep friends said they were FREEZING on the way home without their hard top on. Wish I had figured out sooner how to downsize the video content because my original video was 8mb and I had to cut it short. I had a lot of footage of slipping on rocks and smashing into stuff with the rock rails. I'd say that it's safe to say I came home with about 40 percent less truck bed liner on my rock rails than I had when I left Stockton Saturday. Those darn wet rocks and roots add up after a while and my rock-rings, skid plates, and rails are proof.

My book rates this trail a 7 out of 10 for difficulty for the direction we took.

I think we should get a 7 1/2 because of the weather!! 45 degrees and raining pretty much all day. It was a great time.
