Is he using a relay for the 100W driving lights and what wire (color) did he used on the headlight harness to tap the trigger wire for the driving lights.
DRL is ground activated. It is the blue wire on the headlight connector/harness which is coming from the DRL relay.
How's it going buddy? I was just up /errr/ down in Los Banos fishing with some Step Cal buddies. Shawn "Crawlin" Rawlin was having an issue with his headlights. He just installed some aftermarket 100 watt driving lights on the bumper. His issue is that the headlights are putting out the same power in DRL and Low Beam headlight modes. We swapped a bulb and that didn't change anything.
I am olny writing you because he might forget to ask you. I thought you might be familiar with the wiring and what might cause those symptoms.
