I think i could handle that. Either need to go up on the trail cleanup day or on another weekend with somebody to lead i am still a newb. I have the ability to output .gpx & .kml/kmz trail files with waypoints. I also need to get my mojave road tracks posted.
One of the tasks we are supposed to be working on is mapping the trails. Both Long Canyon and Cody Meadows 4x4. So if you want to handle that, let me know.
Yeah he had a placard but i didn't. Good to know. I would like to get out there again and get some GPS tracks and way points of the trail and the many offshoot trails.
Only the section between the gates is closed.
We can run the trail as a patrol anytime, we just have to have the volunteer placards on our vehicles which I have at my house since I live only a few miles from the trail. And notify the forest service.
For a patrol we are limited to 2 vehicles.
Next time you want to run the trail, let me know and we can arrange to get the stuff to you.
Seemed to be only the area around obstacle one that was closed from the looks of it no other signs or fences except for here. sign at one end fence at the other. Is the whole thing closed?
I was with another member who is on your volunteer list whom was leading me and when we came to the trail closure sign he asked if i had submitted my volunteer form and said we could go around. I questioned this after i got home and saw one of your posts about needing permission to access this part of the trail from NFS. Anyhow i was in the wrong and should have known better. Not my intention to break the rules. Great trail though
Please remember this trail is closed. We have get clearance from the Forest Service to use it. And then it needs to be for maintenance or patrol functions.
If we do not adhere to this, we will lose our priviledges on the trail.
Long Canyon first obstacle? It's trickier than it looks.
