It can get cold, I've been in Death Valley in winter, your cooler will freeze if left outside.

This is me in the very same spot in February. Probably the coldest day since I came to American soil:
On the top of Ubehebe Peak. That was an interesting hike...

The Race track is to the right of the pic just out of shot, and yes I believe that is the Ubehebe peak. We were there a couple of weeks ago, early September, about 98 degrees, not too bad for Death Valley. When we arrived the night before at 9.00pm it was 106 degrees.

In which part of the year did you go there? Is that Ubehebe peak on the background (or, do you have the race track behind in this photo)?
