FJ Cruisers of Northern California

So I have been here awhile now and I have not made a contribution. Because of the close proximity to the Oceano Dunes “Pismo”, I had to have a flag for the rig in order to putt around. So I came up with this easy to make flag mount.

Materials I used 1 ¾” exhaust clamp, 1” x 1” x 1/8” angle iron, 1” strap, and an ATV flag holder. So I cut a one inch piece of angle iron and cut about inch and a half of the strap. Took the angle iron and drilled a hole big enough for the U bolt to go through in the middle of one of the legs. I then took the one inch strap and drilled a half inch hole half an inch from one end in the center. Put the exhaust clamp together with the angle iron piece centered, and then tacked them together. Then I took the one inch strap and made a lap joint with the angle iron, putting the strap on top of the angle iron and offset about a quarter inch. Tacked that piece on and welded it out. Cleaned it up, spray painted with flat black RustOleum, installed the flag holder, and installed on the roof rack. I built 2 of them and the installed one is my first that needs to be repainted, oh well!

So here is my little contribution to the FJ world. It is not much, but maybe it will help someone as this site has helped me!
