FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hey fellow norcal-ers, I'm looking for one 17 inch stock steel wheel (don't need a tire or tire pressure monitor, but if there's one on it that's okay). I need it for my spare tire. I'm in the North Bay, but I go through the SF / Peninsula area every few weeks on my way to Monterey. I also travel the I-80 corridor through Fairfield / Sacramento on my way to Tahoe every few weeks.

I know someone has one of these kicking around, under foot and taking up space. Help out a fellow fj-er, I'll put it to good use. (Or actually, I'll hopefully never use it!) PM me, or email me at - jensmci@aol.com - and let's work something out.

Thanks,  O36 - Jens

I think the steelies are 16" the aluminum ones are 17" I could be wrong though

Stock steelies are available in both 17 and 16 inch. The FJ was available with the 17 inch steelies while the 16's came on the Tacoma (I believe). The 16 inch steelie was also the spare on Tacoma's with 16 inch alloy wheels. The 17's seem to be more abundant than the 16's. I had the 16's with 255/85-16 KM2's (pizza cutter look) mounted on my truck, but they just didn't look right. The fender flares made them look too small, and even though BFG lists them as 33.2 inch tires, very close to the 33.4 inch listed size for my 295/70-17 cooper discoverers, they were actually much smaller, closer to 32 inch tires. I switched out to a 17 inch steelie with 285/75-17 KM2's, which BFG lists as 34 inch tires but they are actually slightly smaller and very close to the same size as my coopers. My experience has been that real world tire diameters differ by manufacturer and rarely are the same as the listed diameter.

So, I have four 17 inch steelies on my truck and now I need one more for my spare.

I have a set of 5 17" steelies.

Are you keeping them as a set or do you want to unload 1?

I can sell one.

Thanks Nester,

I'm in Monterey,  just leaving on a three day bicycle trip down the Big Sur coast with my son. Very limited cell / email service. I will be back around on the 2nd - let's talk then if that's okay.

Thanks - O36 - Jens

Roger that.

BTW - I also don't need the center cap or the lug nuts.
