Ok, so I have the prerunner bumper from Intense Fabrications. I was wondering if you guys think it's possible to mount a winch on it? IF just made one with a winch mount, but it's lower than where I'm thinking about putting one and has a mounting point on it. I want to put one on the top (where lights are supposed to go), but I know I need a mounting point and I don't know what I would need to weld on or if it would even be strong enough.

Thoughts?

*Where I want to mount it is right below the Toyota grille logo in the pic below.

I would hesitate putting it on top of the bumper.

1. Airflow to cool the engine, a winch will cover up 50-60% of the grill intank which may lead to overheating.

2. You would have to build a a stout mounting plate to keep the winch from ripping off while in use. as well as being able to tie the mounting plate into the frame Not to mention how to fabricate a fairlead into the design to help the winch rope wind properly on to the drum while in operation. While you can run without a fairlead it makes it harder to wrap the wire around the outside of the drum and makes it more manageable doing solo recoveries.

3. Lower is better since it gets the static weight of the winch closer to the ground lowering the center of gravity
Soo probably a bad idea? Well my plan B is to ask the IF guy what he did and try and copy that.
