winch suggestions? i like the nylon rope but i don't know how it would perform in sub-zero temps such as those found in northern north dakota
I do know that: Synthetic winch line is vulnerable to HOT ROCKS and is a no no in Az without a line saver sleeve...

I would call the manufacturer for cold weather performance......
I have that mount. I think you'll love it. Very strong, but kinda stealth, and it preserves the factory look. Just need to get yourself some RazorWings (find 'em in the blu room). For the record, I have the synthetic line, mostly to save on weight. It's been fine, but I've never used it in very cold conditions.
