It's that time to do my flush.  Cost aside, would you have the dealer do it, or do it yourself.

The procedure sounds easy as pie, but the cost difference between dealer and DIY is around $200.

I did mine myself.  It's not very hard, but takes a lot of fluid...and the AT fluid is freaking expensive!!!

It takes a bunch either way.  Its only $200 in labor to have the dealer do it.  I'm just wondering if its worth the convenience.  Not too many have actually done the flush themselves it seems.

The dealer will use a machine which pumps fluid through the transmission while the vehicle is running. This will ensure all the fluid in the lines, converter, and cooler are also flushed. I used to be a Tech at a dealership and it would take approx. 30 to 45 min to complete. I was always amazed with the results. I have never tried doing it outside of work.

You must remember when taken something to the dealer your paying for the special equipment and the knowledge of the product their working on; however there are some idiot techs and schister dealers out there.

I would have dealer you trust do the work..
