I have a 2012 fj and am not sure if it has the tow package or how to tell. I bought it used and Certified Pre Rolled and some things like the trailer hitch were removed after the previous owner wrecked it. I don't see any wiring that looks like trailer wiring in the back. Just the thing on rear driver side that I think is for backup radar. Uhaul sold me a wiring kit they claim is for this car for $43, but I don't trust them as they also clim they fired their wiring guy between when I talked to them yesterday and when I stopped by, at their suggestion, today for them to look to see what I have on the car.

I saw something much more complicated Toyota hitch converter kit online for a 2007 and it has a fuse and stuff. Nit sure the difference but it was expensive. Any info appreciated on what I should do. Also got quote of $60 for install from a shop, but if it is easy I have the tools and electrical experience if I had clear instructions. Must do this ASAP.

Thanks
Mark

The wiring block is indeed on the rear drivers side, a plug in module that will terminate in the standard 4 pin receptacle.

You got it for half price if you got the correct plug in. It is $90 on amazon, which is still cheaper than the dealer.

That's the electrical, you still need a trailer hitch? I am removing a Curt 5klb hitch receiver from my 2012 soon and will need to get rid of it.

Steve.
