Hi everyone,

So I've been trying to find a way to turn Traction Control off in my 6MT without going in to low gear. Most of the off roading that I do can be done in high gear so I was wondering if anyone out there has found a way. I've been on the blue room all night but haven't been able to find the right answers on any threads regarding manual transmissions.

Thanks

and just btw the 07 does not have the traction control switch like the newer ones do.
there is a "hack" I can do to switch the VSC off

is it the plug under the hood? What exactly does that turn off?

I'm also going to try to see how I can have a traction control button put in like in the newer models.

if you t tap the wire to the center diff and send it to ground the computer will think you are in 4lo and you can use the locker too
let me know if you find the plug and connector behind the switch panel, I don't think the older FJs have it but Ive been surprised before

thats amazing I've been dreaming of a locking rear in high gear!

How safe is it to do? Is it only when the switch is on that the computer is being tricked? Like if I were to not push it I could go through all gears etc normally?

yup I did on Bozly's AT and will be doing it to mine soon, come on over to the shop and I'll show you his and we can scope out the MT and see what's up, maybe find the elusive wiring for the on/off switch...

as long as you don't engage the locker and do something stupid it will be fine...

there is no existing wiring for the '07s
That would be great! Where's your shop and how can I contact you to find a good time to come in?
