Toyota Technical Bulletins - UPDATE

UPDARE:

Truck is back home. Had the 3rd Member replaced. When I took

it back after the service they checked the diff oil again and it was

black and contained metal shaving's. Thought they would change

it out and not have to have me come back a thrid time.

Ready to hit the trails.

Can someone please pass along the website for checking on

Toyota Technical Bulletins. Took my truck in today because

of some noise in the rear and was told that the Diff Gear Oil

needed to be changed and that there was a new gear oil

for 07/08 FJ's. I would like to find out more info on this.

I also had the 30,000 mile service done on it.

They changed the Gear Oil and I was told to drive it for a

while and see if the "noise" goes away. They say the noise

was in the rear and that this would probably fix it. To me it

seems louder and I do not think that driving it will make it

better. It sounds like the gears are not engaging correctly.

No grinding noise though.

I am traveling out of town tonight and will be back Sat afternoon. I would be comfortable if I could get one of you to at least drive it. Will call when I get back from Chicago.

Mark and I drove my truck tonight and we think it might be bearings. I will have Brandon take a look and see what he finds.

Truck is at the dealers getting a new rear diff install. They need to check to be sure it is covered under powertrain warrenty. Hope good news tomorrow.
