One of my buddies has kind of set up a Group Buy on a titan winch, the 12k version. it'll come with synthetic rope and if we get 6 people then the price will be 560 each!
Total weight will be about 65lbs.
Post up here if there is any interest as i know a few of us are in need of good winches

this GB will come with synthetic line which is better and more lightweight than the normal woven steel cable. hence the slightly higher price over normal
ahhh ok. Good to know. =D
Alright! Here is the link to the GB that a buddy and me are hosting on the TW forum!!

I am the buddy who helped him decide to contact Duncan for this group buy! I am in for this group buy officially! As well as officially being a member of the Norcal FJ forum! See you guys on the trail!
aww man.. thats a good deal. Cant afford that and replacing my MT bumper at the same time =(
Also check out this Warn winch for $479.99

Warn has come out with a line of less expensive winches (the VR series, vs the older and more expensive M series) in order to compete with Smittybilt and all the other brands whose winches are made in China. The VR8000 is currently on sale for $479.99 (reg $539.98). The synthetic line version goes for $645 -- not cheap, but definitely not bad for synthetic!
No prob... good to know. I was just throwing another option out there since I recently discussed that particular Warn winch with someone. I'm just starting to look into this stuff and a purchase is probably a ways off. Some people staunchly swear by Warn, but I'm completely open to suggestion. I would definitely prefer synthetic line, however.
