FJ Cruisers of Northern California
Hi all, did the bmc, and am going to go with stage 1 Icon because my first choice of Sway Away are not available as they have been bought out and the parent company is not shipping product yet.
So now have tire questions.
In 55k miles I have never had to do an on-road/off-road spare replacement so I am going to leave my best BFG stock tire on the spare and not use it in rotation. It becomes my spare.
Lots of choices, thought of BFG KM2, Nitto Grappler, Pro Comp Extreme, but I like these;
Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ P3 285/75 R16 on my TRD wheels.
Anyone got experience with these boots? Do they have longevity?, are they loud on the road? do they do the job off-road?
All this work is coming up after vacation, so August/September so I can still have some time on LCT before the season is over.
Would appreciate all comments with your experiences.
Have a great 4th everyone.

Hi Steve
I ran BFG KM2's on my '07 for 45k miles with minimal issues - sliced the sidewall on the Rubicon. They held up well 285/75/16, worked great in mud and rocks. Just not tall enough.
I also bought Goodyear Kevlar 35x12.50x17's, and ran into clearance issues with the lugs hitting the knuckle gusset, so I had to run 1/4" spacers.
