Thanks for the replies.

I have been looking mainly at AT but since it will be (the rig) my camp and wheeling rig guess I should do more research on more aggressive tires.

One of my concerns is gas mileage which with the MT's will be less than the AT's. Being on the central coast, to get to those good camping and wheeling spots we have to drive a ways. Mileage is important.

Nitto Trail Grappler & Dick Cepek FC II are middle ground tires between an AT & MT. Something to look into.

I have ProComp A/T Extremes, so far so good. They seem to be a good balance between at and mt. Not to noisy on the road either.

If you plan to increase your tire size over stock, you can kiss your mileage goodbye.You can probably expect about 15 mpg with 285s. The size will likely make more difference than the type.
