Well as of right now I am the BrickLayer(need a new name) is sitting on C4B old tires that I bought and SNOW season is coming up and I am a snowboarder(getting there ahah). I need suggestions for tires that looks good. So far I'm looking at GOODYEAR DuraTrac. Are mud tires cool???

Any Suggestions guys:

MTs aren't horrible for the snow (they are just bad :-)) but there are better options for on the road snow driving. An AT tire with smaller gaps will provide better packed snow driving, like you would see on the way up to Tahoe. The theory (as far as I recall, someone chime in if I am off here) is smaller to medium sized gaps keep the tire from digging and smaller edeging on the tire helps to provide additional traction on ice.

An additional bonus is to get a tire with a softer tread compound (which i would only use for winter, wears out fast in summer). The softer compound works better in the cold..

If you want something that is going to work in mud and snow and an all around proven tire look at something like the BFG AT/KO, or if you are going to be running two sets of tires, look specifically at some winter tires. The Duratrack may be a good combition of both worlds. I have never run them though :-).

Hope that helps!
Pro Comp All Terrains and BFG AT/KOs are outstanding tires and either will do well in the snow
See thats the thing I kinda dont like AT tires but I think ima go for the he duratrac
nitto terra grapplers .
I have been very happy with my Procomp xmudterrains. I would buy them again. I have never had them in snow though.
I've been very happy with my Procomp Xtreme M/T's, I'm going to be replacing mine soon with another set after 2+ years and 30k miles on them. Haven't had them in the snow too much but in the rain the sipping on them made a world of difference I I always felt surefooted with them

4 wheelparts has buy 3 get 1 free going on right now with the Procomp tires.
I went back and forth between a few (BFG A/T, Revos and Silent Armours) and settled with Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour A/T.
I love my Honkook M/T's . I got them used from Pitt last year and I have not had an issue... In fact I was thinking about getting a set Of A/T's for my chrome wheels for street driving. But of course I am poor and I am still dreaming...

Many of the guys in MTA run BFG AT's (which is not called something else I think) and they are all very happy with them. and most of these guys and gals have big old Trucks that do Rubicon many times a year..

Bottom line is it all depends on what kind of wheeling that YOU will be doing with YOUR rig...

i am partial to ATs (i have Bridestone Dueler Revos) primarily because a majority of my driving (about 95%) is on asphalt and i'd like to save as much gas and tire tread as possible. they have done well on snow, heavy rain, dirt and rocks. for snow and rain, look for a tire with a lot of siping. you can always get MTs siped, but be aware of the consequences. and, obviously, no AT or MT will help you when it comes to ice on the road.

that being said, there have been a couple instances where i have believed that MTs would have given me better traction over certain obstacles. however, my tires did not prevent me from getting over those obstacles. also, Hollister mud once caked up on my tires to the point where i was sliding side-to-side so they weren't as self-cleaning as MTs would have been. and finally, i recently tore a sidewall on Deer Valley so a stronger sidewall would have helped.

all said and done, i'm a bit torn as to which tires i'm going to pick up next. the DuraTracs look like a good compromise, but i haven't heard much in the way of thorough reviews in various weather conditions as of yet. perhaps someone on here has come across a good resource for DuraTrac reviews. ideally, i'd like to run two sets of wheels, but i've got a lot of other mods i'd like to do before i have that luxury.
There we go thinking alike again. There's an article in the July issue of Off Road Adventures that's got me thinking about the Pro Comp XMTs like Resty's. I understand 4 Wheel Parts may be having a 1 for 3 deal going, I couldn't take advantage if it were 2 for 2. sheesh! Those things are way $$$.
pretty much any tire that requires a 17" rim is going to be more expensive. Which baffles the mind since a tire that requires a 16" rim requires more material.
If you like dem' procomps xmt, den you shud look at da coopers stt, dey be lookin toit.
