So now that I have just about all the big mods I want, I really need to look at tires.

I currently have those stock Dunlop AT20's with about 70% tread left (at most). I want to run these into the ground before getting new ones. I'm looking at the BFG All Terrains (no M/Ts since it's my daily driver) and probably going to stay with the stock size (which I forget what that is, but I have 17" rims).

Where is a good place to find these for a decent price? As well as a place that will install for a decent price? I probably won't be getting the tires until the summer (as long as my current ones last that long), but I want to get a decent idea about my next set.

Orrrr... if anyone knows where I can find the BFG Mud Terrain KM1's. I've always liked them more than the KM2's.

i bought my set of tires from Tire Rack and had them sent directly to one of their installation partners in Sunnyvale. i ended up selling my stock tires to some guy who looks for slightly used stock tires for his truck. he may be looking for more if you are interested.

try pinging BritMok too. he's got a good tire contact down in the south bay.
you know I like the Pro-Comps check out 4wheel parts for deals on their all terrains or you could buy my used X-Terrains....
You have 16" rims though, remember?

Every place I've looked so far is selling the All Terrains for about $210.
I've used Tire Rack in the past. They always seem to be among the lowest price. But then you have to consider delivery charges. My last two sets have been with a Firestone dealer because he matched the Tire Rack price and no delivery cost.
They also have a lifetime alignment for about $100.

Do you remember which "quiet" MT we were talking about? I forget. I'm thinking along those lines myself.
I think we were talking about the BFG Mud Terrains... the KM2's.

I looked at TireRack and they don't even have the BFG A/Ts.

The BFGs seem really expensive from what I've researched so far. If my current tires really get worn down and I need new ones fast, what is a decent A/T (price and performance-wise) with a nice looking tread (I like somewhat aggressive looking)?
the Pro-Comp A/Ts are a good bet, and My next tire, cheap (for what they are) tougher than nails,go everywhere, quite on the road, and they don't suck gas outta your tank for ya
Why do you wish to stay with the stock 265 size? Most of us have gone to 285/70/17's to get a 33" tire over the stock 32". The 33's fill out your wheel wells a little better and you get an extra little bit of clearance from the extra diameter.

I kept an eye on tire sales at various shops and what people are selling on the various forums, sometimes good deals pop up.
I guess cuz it's a bit cheaper and I don't mind keeping the same size. Unless going up another inch really doesn't add that much to the price.
It will reduce a couple of MPGs. But they are better.
That's another thing I'm trying to avoid for the time being... I mean, my roof lights alone take off quite a bit on my MPG.
if you are worried about MPGs, modding your FJ is not going to help.
