FJ Cruisers of Northern California

So... I spent a good chunk of Saturday morning installing some Trail Gear rock sliders… And everything went fairly smoothly. A bit awkward—but mostly painless.

So I get down to my last bolt of the install (topmost driver's side bolt) and I just CAN'T get the dang bolt to thread. I'd like to think I'm moderately wrench savvy… but this was driving me nuts! I don't know if the threads got jacked or what... it just wont take!

Suggestions anyone? Anyone in the South San Jose area want to take a look?

Do you guys know how much a tapping tool cost??? I got one thread all stripped.
A cheap one for chasing threads isn't much but then you'll need a holder/handle to use it. The best bet is to get a metric set. Harbor Freight has them real cheap.

X2 and 3 for harbor.. Great place for cheap tools and other stuff
Buy your local mechanic a six-pack and borrow his.
thats what im saying lol but yea I kinda want to get tools to buy and keep just incase I needed for later or if someone else needs it.

But I'm sure you guys know if you want tools Orchard is having a no tax weekend on all of there tools I think.
Orchards no-tax sale brings their prices down to about home Depot.
Hahahahaha it iz true =)
The "no tax" is a scam, they actually still pay the sales tax to the state... buy on the internet!!!
for anyone else that will be installing these sliders:

i too had this problem on my TG sliders. I found the trick to be to loosen all 7 bolts once you are going to screw in the 8th so the the sliders are loose. the bolt will go right in. check on fjcruiserforums....its there too
This is what we had to do with my TG sliders as well...

...yeah me too...

haha them sliders are HEAVY...i remember putting mines I must a use both arms legs and even my forehead to hold that thing.
