Thread engagement

Anybody notice that the studs on spidertrax seem shorter than stock and allow the nuts fewer theads to engage? I am able to get multiple full revolutions with my torque wrench and all seems secure... Just curious if this is normal?

That sounds a bit scary. I have the spidertrax spacers too, but I don't have any problems with it. Try taking them off and putting them on again.

yeah something about that isn't right...almost by definition the spacers would force you to have longer studs.

Ok, sorry 'bout that post, I was tired... I meant to say that the studs on the front hubs seem shorter than those on the back hubs, NOT on the spacers themselves. This can be corrected by All Pro's ET Lug nuts is my understanding after digging through the blue room threads. Does this sound correct?

Yes, the front studs are shorter, this was a concern of mine when I had spacer. There was a post in the blue room about longer studs from NAPA with part numbers. I do not think that lug nuts will correct this, you will have to replace the studs in the hub w/ longer.

The nut that holds the spacer to the hub is fairly deep so you get good thread contact. So far it has not been a problem for all of FJs w/ Spidertrax.

Mark has got it right the rear wheel studs are longer and replacing the front ones are a PITA

call me up if you wanna switch them out

Thanks Bz. It looks like these All Pro nuts are likely to help after all. The ET style (extra thread) nuts have a narrower shank that allows multiple extra revolutions of the nuts on the lugs getting down well into the tapered hole of the spacers. I do have at least 6 full revolutions on the nuts that came with the spacers, and if the link NDA431FJr. sent is correct, I should be fine anyway. But, better safe than sorry.
