FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hey all. We haven't even had our 2007 a week, and we're already thinking about modding.

Top on the list so far:

  1. scuba mod for elocker and rear diff breather (based on this suggestion and my eagerness to ford a stream or 2)
  2. skid plate
  3. tow d-rings and snatch strap
  4. 3rd row seats from littlepassengerseats.com

I am interested to know if anyone has installed these 3rd row seats, and if so, how well they work for your passengers. We have 3 boys, 7, 9, and 10, and the thought of cramming them all in the 2nd row seat for anything more than a 40 minute trip to Doran Beach makes me cringe.

I like that these 3rd row seats can apparently be removed when not in use, and the company buys them back after you're done with them. Obviously the Cruiser is not meant to be a troop transport but it's just such a great rig for all kinds of trips we'd love to take the kids on up and down the coast.

Feedback would be appreciated!

I have the same problem. So I got an 80 and that solved it.. LOL

I have seen this mod on the blue room but I have never seen anyone on here with it, at least not that I remember.  Only problem with putting seats back there is you now have that much less room for gear, cuz I know the kids always come with lots of crap LOL, I have three myself.  Unless you have a trailer.

I am sure more will post up with more info on this mod than I.  and if you do install these seats, please post up some pics..

same here...saw it on the Blue Room, but also could've swore someone in NorCal had one. it's gonna bug me for the next few minutes. if i remember, i'll let you know.

You remember.... it was the guy who drowned his FJ in the Fordyce River and his 7 passengers had to be airlifted to safety, one of which was a toddler, I can't seem to find the pic though

wow, that was him?! ok, never mind.

WOW it was that guys.. OH WOW.....

I'm currently adding a jump seat with belt. Still has plenty of room when not in use. I will post a picture once I'm done.

Awesome! I think this is one of those projects I will never get around to or have quite enough money for, so I shall have to live vicariously through the initiative of others!
That's a sweet idea. I remember my parents had something similar made for the old Explorer. It definitely took away from cargo space, but it came in handy when you just needed to move people for day trips and stuff.

Guys, see the photo's of my jump seat project.
