Suggestions for MODS -- Sale/Trade/WTB section
I noticed a small snafu in the SALES section the other day.
We assume that since this forum is called NorCal FJ, that it's members are all from NorCal more or less.
Suggestion -- We post our location when selling or wanting to buy something. It takes a few seconds.

I was looking for a signature setting for this. I couldn't find one, but that being said one of my other forums rules is that your location MUST appear in your signature. As you and BZ have stated this leads to less confusion, especially when selling or buying something. So my question is to Mutato, is there a signature setting for this ? and if not can we get one ? Just my .02 worth

no signature setting available, but you can click on the member photo to go to their profile where a location can be viewed (not all have their location set though). i am currently working on a member map that will map everyone to their city, but it's still a way off since it will also include other handy info such as forest offices, CO2 refill locations and such.
a seller should know that in order to expedite a sale, one's location should be known...kind of like a craigslist ad. that should be a good incentive for posters.

I think it should be mandatory too, but people will put in what ever they want, one I use --"Next door to Nancy Pelosi" just to annoy some people.
As far as ad posters go--don't get me started. It never ceases to amaze me how lame they can be. One site I visit has a tire and wheel classifieds section, I don't how many times I have seen tires for sale w/ out a size.
People are people, not all of them can be perfect like us. ;-)

Another incentive Steve would be to play a little hardball with posters that are selling who do not put their locations and delete their post. A message then sent to them explaining why. I know it sounds extreme but it's heading off a problem in the future possibly.
p.s. When you gonna fix this resigning in thing dam it, my fingers are getting tired of having to sign in every dam time I come here. lol

Yeah... the sign in thing. But, if you have auto fill on your info should already be there... or maybe that's just a Mac thing:-)~

X2 on the sign-in thing. For the record, I'm using Windows 7, latest version of IE, fully patched.
This bug is a recent change, but driving me nuts. So bad, that I don't bother signing in most times I visit, and several times I've clicked the link to create a post, then cancelled when the sign-in popup appears.
Sorry for the thread hijack... EYP, I think your idea is a good one. My feathers are not ruffled ;)
