solenoid placement

Looking for some input on the placement of the solenoid for a painless dual battery,painless says as close to the main batt. but I have seen disscusions of it near the 2nd. I would like it near the 2nd batt.,any cons that anyone can chime in on?

Mine is half way between the two batteries on the fire wall. I have the dirty parts set up and I think that's how the instructions had it

I have the Dirty part kit and the solenoid is attached to the battery tray.
