My snow gods cannot confirm 125 inches of snow to date. They say no way. I say who cares, it is snowing and will snow over the next few days. However, a close inspection of Kirkwood is warranted.
Friday was great - Sunny, no wind, no lines at all and everyone was wishing everyone else Happy Thanksgiving.
I was worried about my season as I dropped 20 feet from the top of the first lift. I guess it helps a lot if you use the straps and buckles on your boots. But once I had the first fall out of the way, it was great day.
Power, packed power, good cover on runs, need more snow for the trees (at least for me).
Great first day of the ski season.
With weather coming in overnight on Friday, we will reassess Sat. We will need to get the peeps back to SLO and Chico for Monday classes. The roads out of Kirkwood will need to be open.
