Question about the rear bumper swing out...I'm looking for a new rear bumper but I see some have a rear swing out tire carrier. Is there really and advantage of having a rear swing out tire carrier? My Tires are 305/70r16

I have the same tire size as you and went for a metal tech swing out to get the weight off the door. In addition, the swingout I went with holds (2) 5 gal gas cans and a high-lift jack. I believe metal-tech is offering some discount storewide right now, unless it already ended.
Did you purchase the Red Eye bumper? im lookin at that now..i think it looks awesome..
Check out Trailworx fabrication on Face book Dave used to be a socal peep but he makes awesome bumpers! and he will make the bumpers how ever you want them to look full custom jobs!
Yes I know Dave...He's making my front tube bumper...I should get it next week...
HE makes some pretty sweet rear bumpers as well his swing out style is so awesome and the approach angles on his rear bumper is un beatable!
Looks like Tran answered your question. His rear bumper is cool and the best in the price range. I think other manufacturers have really expensive tire carrier bumpers too. You get what you pay for. If you want that spare wheel off the door, especially a large spare, get the wheel carrier/bumper.
I am still stock wheel size and so went for the ARB steel rear bumper to match my ARB front bumper.
My criteria is the vehicle needs to sleep in my garage so no excessive lifting going on here. But I am able to enjoy all the trails our NorCalFjs group have performed so far.
