Nice pics !!! looks like a blast !!
Nice! Looks like we need to get out there!!!

I'm jealous, those high desert roads are great. Wish we had some of that around here.

Will your friend be racing at Primm next weekend?

He will not be at Primm. If he got he truck working in time, he would have raced it.  He got sponsored by Toyota, so they gave him a new engine.  He also reworking the tube chasis, frame, and suspension, so he increased his travel from 16" to 19".   He is almost done, but not quite yet.  Chaos hasn't sent out the reworked suspension to him yet.

We had a 3 hour drive from Sacramento till we hit the dirt.  We could do a Norcal day up there.  Either camp in the desert, or camp at Tahoe.  Only an 1.5 hour drive from Tahoe.

Damn that looks so fun.

Hi! Could you give some more info on the path you have taken and how to get there? That is SO interesting!

I see Nixon is close to the Piramid lake, on the road to the Black Rock, place that I love. I was wondering if it could be a good alternative to get there or on the way back. How much time does it take to run across that land?

Yes, we were by Pyramid Lake.  We were on Hwy 447.  The dirt roads we were on began about a mile past the end of the indian reservation.  That was the first time I was there.  My friend had an Atlas road map book which also had the dirt roads shown.  I'll ask him what road map book he has and where he got it.
Thanks! Actually any good book about Nevada trails or deserts is very welcome. It is difficult to find stuff for Nevada (at least, this is my experience, I'd like to be proven wrong).
