FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hi guys, I am looking forward to participate at the install day in Petaluma next Saturday.

Is there a caravan going up to the place starting from the Peninsula?

I will have to do the 10k service and fix and repaint the scratched parts of my rock sliders and bud skid plates.

So my questions are:
- I have already changed the oil. Which other spare parts should I buy for the 10k service?
- the rock sliders are powder coated. which kind of paint shall I buy to fix the scratches?
- the skid plates have been painted using primer and then blue paint. I still have blue paint but no primer. Shall I buy it or I fix it just with blue paint?

Thank you
Alessio

We have:
2) ft bumper winglets and
1) spare tire cover

Anyone want them, they are yours.

Alessio, I'll see if Mark can respond to your paint questions.

See you Saturday! - Ann
I could use the wings Ann! cool deal,
They have been blacked out, scratched and abused. All of the mounting tabs are good, and with a little sand- and-paint they should be fine..... until you knock them off
If these are just your under belly skids then just scuff them up and paint them.

Once you tweak them badly enough, the powder coat will peel off. Then you need to bend them back (3lb sledge hammer, roll your truck over it, or get Boss and I to "stomp" it out). the peeling powder coat will require some self etching primer to keep the surface rust down, and keep the paint on.
well the skid plates are NOT powder coated - shall I just buy normal primer and then blue paint?

The rock sliders *are* powdercoated; can you suggest me a product for this application?

thank you!
Alessio
just rattle can (spray paint) the sliders with Rustoleum.
Will I find that at OSH/Homedepot?

For the Bud's, shall I use both primer and paint?
Just paint on the Buds..
X2...no one can see em'.
Well you can take very good pictures of the FJs in the most unusual point of views! I do not want my skid plates to look uneven :)
in that case, i would highly recommend this quality spray paint from Krylon!!!
"Magical Multi-Color" is the best!!! So it would seem I hit and crushed a Mini-Pony!
