Hi; I just changed my oil (with the Fumoto valve it's really a 1-2-3 operation)

The only problem is that it seems I cannot re-insert the oil level "stick" correctly. Before I apply a lot of force, has anybody experienced this kind of problem?

Try and spin it as you insert it into th hole...

Kind of make me think of something else also.

Can't wait to see the wife tonight !! hehehehe
yeah, turn as you push it in, it'll go in.

ha!
This is the image. The small gasket barely enters the conduit. Is it supposed to stay there perhaps?

i had the same problem, thought it was corrosin(sp?) from the salt water at pismo beach, ended up twisting it in.
OK I used some engine oil to lube the gasket and conduit and it entered normally.
ohh... lube...

nice.
do you happen to have a picture of the valve on? Just wanted to see how it looks. It connects right at the drain plug right?
I will have to take one
But yes, it replaces the drain nut with a convenient mechanism.
I have not seen this valve before. Interesting. Does it drain by flippin the lever? Are you worried about the lever moving on you and allowing the oil to drain out when would like the oil to stay where it is nice and warm (in the engine)?

I would like to check this out sometime.

Thanks for the web link.
No I am not worried. It has to be *pulled* with a very precise two-way movement to be opened. And lots of people on the Blue Room swear by the quality of this little guy, not only on the FJ but on several other cars.
I've had the Fumoto for 2 years now and swear by it. Oil change is very easy and no more gaskets to worry about. Only drawback is waiting for the drain but that's when I change the filter.
That is not a problem for me; I normally let the oil drain overnight anyway, or at least few hours.
