I did make up some business cards a while back and do put them on FJs every once in a while. Some have taken them gladly and joined the site. Others just get annoyed.

good idea. in fact, we've actually considered it to the point of actually conducting a couple "trials" which included leaving cards and decals on windshields in two different regions. however, we've noticed that a majority of the referrals come from those actively seeking information online about their FJ Cruisers and wanting to participate in an online/offline community, which works well for all of us.

Makes sense.  Those seeking more knowledge about how to use their FJC off road will find NorCal FJC.  Mall crawlers are happy and content in their own bubble world any how. :-)
