FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hey, just saying hello to all. I bought a used 2007 Ti 4x4 auto FJ back in October, been lurking around fjcruiserforums.com figuring out what I want to do to improve on my rig. It came with worthless HTs so I've only been on some very easy dirt roads so far. I'm looking to get a new front bumper w/ winch, 3" lift w/ UCAs, a set of 285/75/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers probably meaning I'll need a body mount chop as well.

Once I've got that taken care of I can at least start to learn about wheeling first hand. This is my first 4x4 so I have plenty to learn it should be fun!

Welcome to the NorCal site.

BTW.. you don't need to do a body mount chop if your using 285/75/17...
Note that they're 75's, so almost a 34" tire, more than an inch taller than 285/70/17. Do you still think I can probably get away without the chop? Considering I plan on installing UCA's so from what I've read you can play with the caster and not have to chop.

Figuring out what I'm going to install is killing me. First I wanted 35's but got put off by the thought of re-gearing right off the bat, then 295/70/17, now the 285/75/17.

Thanks for the input.
Sorry didn't see the 75..lol so yea go and chop that body mount...:-)

Welcome to the site FJK.

Don't be afraid to get out and wheel while your still stock, I've seen some stock rigs get through some rough terrain. It's all about having a good spot and learning what the FJ will do.

btw, if ya like the ARB front bumper, I have one for sale. It's in great shape with the fog light kit but no winch.

And watch for a body mount chop party thread in the near future, there's a bunch of people that want to do it and we could knock out a bunch in one day at my place one weekend.

Have fun and hope to see ya out there soon.
Howdy!
welcome
