FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Sorry guys but due to the extreme weather coming at us, it looks like the best thing to do is to cancel this trip & try again in a couple months.  Thanks for all the great trail ideas, everyone.  This will give us a little more time to check out possible runs & make some solid plans.

Looks like we have some interest in wheeling either the 27th or 28th of December.  I'm not really sure where we'll go wheeling yet.  There are some suggestions in the discussion.  Anyone w/ pointers about where the best places to go would be given the snow.

So far, the suggestions are:

the Virginia City area (CV Kurt, can you get the trail names from the Battle Born Cruisers?)

?unknown? (TOE 4x4, you mentioned you had some trails in mind.  Please share.)

Middlegate Station (Click here for map provided by John from BozTec)

Washoe Valley (Estysalinas, please provide coordinates if you have them)

Crystal Peak & trails nearby (FJ Scout, need coordinates please)

If there's any other spots we should be thinking about or if you have reasons why any of these should be eliminated, speak up.

Ghost & I are thinking about cruising up this Saturday morning to scout out some of the locations above.  Before then, we'll check the TTORA site to see if there's any trails still open in the area.

Found a pretty cool site with a few local trails... http://www.trails.com/activity.aspx?area=15726

Thanks,

John

I wish I could join but I will be on my xmas vacation on both dates.

you may want to check in with Rob (he's Rob on here...formerly PuckerFactor) or KRT. he mentioned some kind of TTORA event he was planning.

Living just an hour south of Reno, I'd be interested in joining in on the fun... work permitting.

I'll see if I can coordinate a trip to Reno for family, snow and wheeling.

It would have to be Jan 1-3 for me.

Where are you thinking of going, trails in mind?

No Idea of trails..I was hoping a few of the Reno locals could suggest a trail or three.

John

I am kind of local, know a couple of trails, but still regard myself as a newbie.  I suggest getting hold of one of the local clubs for more educated advice.   I've done two runs with the Battle Born Cruisers. They are a great bunch.

Off hand, I'd recommend doing something in the Virginia City area (unless there happens to be way too much snow up there by the time the dates roll around) because of a) the history, b) the views, and c) the bbq.

I would be interested.

I might be able to join in on this run.

i may be down as well.. i think i have that week off :-P

Maybe...

I have a couple in mind that I will do a little more research on and then post up for us to check out.

I'll be up there on the 27th, but coming back on the 28th. Don't know if we could make it the following weekend.
