FJ Cruisers of Northern California

I was in a rush this morning before work to grind a piece of my modified exhaust down to fit the tummy tuck.  It was dark and I only had my sunglasses to use for eye protection.  I took them off because I couldn't see and sure enough a razor sharp piece of steel hit my eye.  I luckily had a mirror near by was able to hold my eye open and pull it out.  I got a slight cut near the inside corner of my eye ball but I was able to get the piece out before it cut me up to bad.

What did I learn?  Wear eye protection.

Agreed.  The fried chicken story sounds more interesting.  Extra crispy?
Nothing special. I was ripping a piece of meat off of a chicken wing and I guess I was really hungry or something, cause before I knew what happened I felt something scratching against my eye.  I blinked a couple of times hoping to clear whatever it was but to no avail. So I had the wife take a look and sure enough a piece of the chicken skin was under my upper eyelid. The wife tried to get it with a q-tip but I don't like things near my eye and I just kept closing my eye in reaction. After maybe 30 minutes of pain and not being able to open my eye, I forced my eye open and got it out with a q-tip. Was not fun. I can't even watch my wife put her contacts on. Can't wait till my goggles/sunglasses get here.

I also keep eye rinse in my rig...get some!! :-)

No Crap!!! Lucky You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get a magnet close your eye and let the magnet sit over your closed eye for a bit. Hope you are all right!!!
Good lesson and glad you didn't do too much damage.
