Don't P.O. the only person who can see where you are going.

OK let me comment, just to express my point of view.

  • HIDs? What are you referring to here?
  • OK, but why?
  • Well my solution is "always hot" cigarette adapters that run even with no key inserted. But, I do not think those lights turn on automatically if you just put the key in the "first" position... do they?

I like to modify those settings, for example I have fog lights that are absolutely independent of the key status and can be left turned ON all the time, or always hot cigarette adapters, I disabled all chimes, I disabled the filthy clutch check, now I am trying to find a reason to do this mod :)

Other that that, can you tell us more about the aux tank?

generally speaking, btw, I would like to have more control over my vehicle's functions than less.  For example, I am considering doing the rear diff mod that lets me put on the rear diff lock in 4 hi.  like to disable chimes, etc.

aux gas tank is 19 gallons, not street legal.  pumps gas across to main tank.  fills at main fill location.

Oh yeah, I also agree having control is nice. That is why I was asking, I may very well do this mod myself!

For the aux tank, I know the specs, in fact I was even about to buy one... but how is it when you use it? Any problems? Is it worth it? The tiny tank capacity of the FJ Cruiser is really frustrating, for when you go to explore areas that are far from civilization.

Nice build thread...very well done.

That's a beautiful FJ, MG! I hope to see you at a meet some day.

Your FJ's looking good M.G.

I may have missed it on your build up thread (lookin' at the pics), but it looks like you have an aftermarket horn. If so, what is it and how does it sound? I have the secondary horn installed plus the stock horn that makes it more of a two tone, but it stll sounds a bit high pitched for my taste... Looking for a beefier sound without doing the street illegal train horn (although THAT would make me smile sometimes...).

it's on there with a link...

Basic info

Hella Super Tones horns - super loud - 118 dB.  two tones. I forget the wavelength. one is a little high.  the first or second result on youtube for hell supertones will give you a good sense of the tones.

i don't think these hit the "train horn" bar.
