Long Canyon Trail Kiosk Build

As many of you know, NorCal FJs has adopted the Long Canyon Trail near Kyburz. One of the projects is to build a kiosk with trail information, our group information and whatever forest service information the FS wants to put in there.

What many of you do not know is I have been working with an Eagle Scout candidate, Matt, on building this as his Eagle project. He will be turning 18 soon and needs to get it put up before he does. He has it nearly completed and is hoping to get some of us to help him this Sunday to help dig the holes and put it up.

I will be going and depending on the FS decision, I may be able to take a small tractor up there to do the digging. But I am almost sure they will not let me do it for fire and liability reasons.

It would be really good to have a bunch of us to help out to show appreciation for Matt's work. They will feed us lunch as well.

Darn!.... I'm out of town this weekend. Would have really loved to see this come together. Havn't heard much about it since I hooked you up with the scouts last year. Take lots of pictures.

Are the trails easy enough for a non-lifted FJ to cross? I haven't been to Long Canyon. Depending on what time it starts, I may be able to help out.

I don't believe this is a trail run. The activity will be just off the paved road.

Man this is way cool ! sounds like a win win for everyone involved.. I wish I could but I was just up there last week and I to much to do this weekend for the drive up from SC.
