living on the coast and washing intervals

hey all,

I just moved to El Granada and am loving it. I had a question about washing my truck, and maintenance in general. I'm not planning any runs on the beach, but I am concerned about having my FJ in a constant foggy salt air environment. For those of you who live in the bay area, how often do you wash your vehicle? Do you clean the undercarriage as well when washing?

I'm no stranger to maintenance. I plan on being under the truck at least a couple times a year to check for rust. I just haven't lived in this type of environment before.

I live in San Francisco and I haven't washed in years. There is rust all over, so I would say, good luck.

I've noticed that keeping the undercarriage muddy hides the rust well. The other option is to hit the undercarriage with a high pressure hose every 120 days or so. Welcome to the neighborhood.
