FJ Cruisers of Northern California

To my techie pals --- I wanted to run this by you.  BZ suggested I do. ;p

My friend is selling me his Icon shocks and coilovers -- Tacoma 2005+. Putting it on my 2007 FJ.

Is there going to be any issues?

What kind of front lift (if any) will there be?

Thanks.

It will fit.

The front is identical. The only problem you will have to deal with is the rear springs. Tacomas have leaf springs, so you will have to find some rear coils.

Other than that, everything is the same. As far as how much lift you will get depends solely on you. The front coilovers are adjustable. The rear lift depends on which coils you get.

Difference between Tacoma and FJ Icons is the valving, so the ride won't be optimal.  But not sure if you'll notice.  If you want, have them shipped down to Icon for a rebuild/re-valve.  It'll cost you some where in the range of $150 for both.  You'll get the basic 2.5" to 3.5" lift.

Good, for pointing that out!
You could also get them retrofitted with external resevoirs too.
Thanks for the suggestions and the quick response, guys.
