Of course, I am.
I was driving on I-580 in Oakland (somewhere near Bozlys). Not much traffic in the morning. Maybe 15-20 cars in sight. There were 2 cars in front of me, maybe 300ft away. We were driving ca 70mph. Suddenly one of the cars change 2 lines and then loose control, just where bouncing from line to line. The other car slowed down a bit seeing it in the mirror and then the bouncing car hit it from the side and make it spin. It spined 180 degrees, run through 3 lines and smashed with its side into a concrete wall (at speed maybe 40-50). I bet you, it looked nasty.
All cars in sight slowed down a bit but noone stop. I look ahead of me, and you know what ? the guy who caused the excident start accelerating! 100% hit and run case.
I stopped and run to see if the guy in the smashed car was alive. supprisingly noone else stopped (come on, what is wrong with people?, there were 15+ witnesses and noone gave shit about what they had seen, and I tell you it did not look like a regular fender bender but like a serious crash!).
fortunatelly a few seconds after the crash a HWP car enter the freeway from the exit nearby. the HWP officer didnt see the accident itself but realized that the guy who casued it was running away. he started the pursuit.
the guy in the smashed car was alive but did not seem to understand me, he was in shock and had some problems with arm and sholder...i dont know what happen to him later as he was taken care of people from two fireengines that came few minutes later..
anyway, there were more HWP cars coming to block the freeway. i was the only witness and i was happy to testify. in the meantime i learnt that the pursuit was successful. with my testimony there was no others questions asked, clear case. guy is in jail (to be realised for 20k$ if I understoo correctly from the policeman's radio).
To summarize, I am sad to see that people do not care to stop and help others.
Lesson learnt is that if you care to stop, testify you may really help the police to clean this world from idiots that hit and run.
