Other information
the trail run schedule only serves as a frame for some of the runs we will be doing. many of you have mentioned that fishing, rock climbing and sightseeing will be on the agenda as well. there are plenty of places to do it. there will also be natural hot springs in the area, so don't forget your bathing suits...birthday suits are optional.

Weather
evenings will be colder with lows hitting in the upper 30s and lower 40s. please be prepared! daytime temps are forecasted to track in the mid-70s.

Group photo opp and video
since this will be one of the larger NorCal FJ runs to date, we will try to schedule some time for a group photo. we will most likely do this at Kavanaugh Ridge on Saturday. also, a video will most likely be filmed during the trail runs.

Camping and F&B
i will send everyone camping and food & beverage details via PM. please keep in mind that base camp and the overflow camp are dispersed campgrounds and do not have any facilities or potable water. if you plan to "borrow" someone else's PETT toilet, i would suggest you purchase your own Wag Bags. please keep in mind that we will be near water, so you must pay strict attention to being environmentally conscious when it comes to disposal of human wastes.

More information

don't bring anything more than you will really need. please avoid bringing excess food and remember to secure foodstuffs at all times.

Tread Lightly and Trail Run & Camping Guidelines

* as always, Tread Lightly rules are in full effect. do not blaze your own trails and be mindful of the wildlife that make the High Sierra their home. always exhibit good trail etiquette.
* driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs is strictly prohibited.
* no loud amplified music on trails or campsites
* please pack out your own garbage and do not litter

Looking forward to yet another memorable High Sierra run!

This is cool, do you know what are the manned hours? Last time in Death Valley I arrived exactly when they were leaving the gate and I had to pay :(

What makes me feel bad about paying is that they use that money to put more asphalt and paved roads
I have the days off. Where do we all meet??? I will be coming over on Hwy 50 or Hwy 4 from Sac. Meet up with anyone??? 707 293 0330
I am planning to join you guys. I may be able to leave Bay Area on Wed.
I have to mention that my ride is still stock so i am wondering (just like few other people ealier in the thread) if I can make all trails...
Are there any utilities at the base camp ? What camping equipment should one have (except obvious tent, stove) ?
no utilities at the campsite...it is dispersed camping (e.g. no porta potties, etc.). for those of you who may be uncomfortable with dispersed camping, there are plenty of developed campgrounds around the June Lake Loop as well as lodges in Mammoth. i will provide a general time schedule for all the trail runs about a week prior to the run, so those who choose not to stay at base camp will know when and where to meet up.

as mentioned previously, all the trails can be done stock. that being said, if this is anyone's first time wheeling, please let me know as there are a few things that need to be discussed prior to embarking on the trails. so if you are an experienced wheeler with a stock FJ, you will be fine - if you are new to wheeling and are stock, PM me.
Yo Tater, if'n ya need me to school the rookies, create maps, scout the runs, or help out in any other way, let me know I'm here for ya and I ain't got chit else to do......=)
I to will help out with spotting and all that good stuff through the trails..

Hey tater how long does it take to drive to base camp from here ??
Boss, it took us just over 5 hours to get there last year. You need to cross the Sierras and then head south to the town of Mammoth. Fastest way is to go through Yosemite but that costs $20 just to pass through. 108 is next and is 20 to 30 minutes longer since it heads North around Yosemite.
Will we be at the same base-camp all four nights, or are we moving?
same base camp. we had entertained the thought about moving camp every night, but it would be more difficult to coordinate inbounds and trail activity. future plans may see us doing a more expedition-like run, so stay tuned!
I'm not complaining...

With all of our gear, I like not moving every night. Not that it would keep me from a trip! :)
