FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Long story short:

A guy, Colin Marson, I met on the blue room who lives in Alberta, Canada contacted me because he saw a post I commented on about the MAF auxilliary tank.  We have exchanged emails on the pros and cons of the system.  He was inquiring about it because he will be traveling from CA down to Mexico.  This is something that's on his life list and he just wants to explore some parts of Mexico.  Due to some of the remote locations he's planning on visiting, he decided to try to get the MAF tank.  He was going to drive down to MAF and have them install it.  I offered to have the tank shipped to my house and help him install it at no cost.

He seems like a nice man who is trying make one of his dreams come true.  If anyone is interested in helping out please let me know.

Colin will be in CA on 1/22/11.

Update:  The tank arrived at my house last night and Colin will be in town on Saturday, January 22nd to do the install.  Everyone (almost) is welcome to stop by.  The install should take between 2.5-6 hours depending on how quickly we work.

As of now the install will be at my house.  Address below:

2345 triumph court

Turlock, CA 95380

gate code 2726 or call me at (209)648-9436

Update:  We will be starting the install on Saturday at around 9:00 am.

I'll keep an eye out for the 16th. I'd like to see how it is done.

I'll do the same..

Hey Pete, this sounds like a cool project.  I'll keep an eye on your thread as the date gets closer.

hey let's make it a meet and greet day...why not

I'm glad to see there's interest.  A meet and greet sounds great.  I'm not sure how old Colin is but when I hear "life list" I assume he's long in the tooth.

Saturday January 16th works best for me.  I'll email him today and see if he can make that work.

Saturday is the 15th. I have an install day at my place that day. See the Events list.

You are all welcome to do the work then.
Sounds like a cool project, i'll keep an eye out.

Hmm interesting.. I will keep looking at this thread

It looks like we will be doing the install at my house in Turlock on 1/22/11.  I'm not exactly sure of Colins plans after the install.

I'd be happy to host a meet and greet.  Please let me know if your interested in helping, cooking, drinking, or documenting. I think it should be fun.

Look at that a Turlock guy!  I'm a Turlock native.  THS class of 95.  anyways, on topic.  Im in roseville and am pretty decked out in all the tools.  Im willing to do it at my place if it is more convenient.

I'm definitely down for Meet n Greet in Turlock as well.

Hey Seth-

I'm a NYer but moved here 6 years ago now.  I'll keep you posted as we get closer.

Ok, some I am the old guy from North of the Border.....actually in Alberta.
I will be coming down (with my wife) to find some warm weather. I-15 South to Idaho Falls and the I-80W through NV into Sacramento.
The auxiliary tank is in preparation for a 3-4 wk trip to the Baja peninsula to be done in the future.
Peter has kindly offered the expertise for the install - which is greatly appreciated.

Look forward to meeting all the participants.
After the install I will be heading to Corona to meet a buddy and end up going through to Las Vegas before heading North again.
However the schedule is flexible - it is all R&R
