FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hello everyone. I have a AG FJC, new in July, and took the month of Aug off from work to drive cross country. Stopped in Moab and Colorado then off to Asheville NC.  Then back to Colorado for more camp outs and trail runs . The  FJC did great!  Logged in a little over 8,500 miles. I have been into offroading more than 30 years, manly jeeps and trucks. Love the way the FJC works in stock form. I have started the build up. Initially I built a skid plate from the front to the fuel tank out of 3/16 steel, and covered it with 1/2 in black UHMW plastic. Works great.  Also installed Total Chaos upper control arms. Anyway, hope to make it to one of your Club runs in the near future. It's great to read and see how everyone is using there FJC. It would be nice to meet other owners North of SF (as I live about  5 hours North). Great site with lots of info. Later.. Steve

Hi Steve and welcome. I, for one, intend a northern trail run in the next month or two. If you have any suggestions please let us know.
Thanks for the welcome. I belong to a offroad culb out of Eureka - http://www.redwoodoffroad.com, open to anyone who likes to offroad. ....There is a scheduled October R.O.C. run, a campout at Lake Pillsbury near Ukiah. I will be heading down on Friday October 8th. We have been staying at the Fuller Grove Campground on Lake Pillsbury. This is a fun run. Not too far from home, a nice camp spot and wonderful scenery and some good wheeling. Hope this helps.
Got it on the calendar and will look into it.
Welcome aboard Steve, come and enjoy the madness.

Looking forward to seeing you and checking out the UHMW job you did, i've been talking to a few people about doing that and it would be cool to see in action.
Welcome to the site!!! Hope to run into you at some of the events!

im down for some cow mt. im close by in lake county and just got some new tires i'd like to try out.
Welcome Steve.

I use to spend a week every summer around lake pillsbury (eel river for me). Never did any wheeling around there, but great camping and fishing.

Hope to meet you at some event.

Yes...I was thinking Eel too.
The Eel River is getting pretty low this time of the year. The Club usually run the Rivers went it’s low, from Fernbridge to the VanDusen River then up the VanDusen about 3 miles. You end up crossing the Rivers about 4 to 5 times. Maybe about a 3 Hr run if you don’t stop and play along the way, or longer if you do. Makes for a great nite run, too. As for Cow Mountain…great offroad park but the trails can be overgrown with brush. But yes, I go there maybe once a year. Would like to see an FJC do the new wall..
Welcome! Wish I got up that far north more - love it up there.
All my family's from Yreka/Dunsmure/Fort Jones.
Def need to do a Nor Nor Cal run soon!!
