FAQs

Q: I want a unit without the LVCO (low voltage cut off). If I am the only one who wants that configuration out of 20 orders, do I still qualify for the $276.00 price?

A: Yes. The bulk order is for total units and the discount will be spread across all kits with or without the LVCO option.

Q: I'm in NorCal. Will I be splitting the shipping cost amongst other NorCalers?

A: Yes. For example, 10 NorCalers and 10 SoCalers go in on the Group Buy. NorCal will incur the shipping cost for the bulk shipping rate of 10 units or $110.00. At $11.00 each, you are still saving $4.50 in shipping per unit.

Q: What if I want different colored light switches?

A: You will have to make that request when you place the order.

Q: How and when do I pay?

A: Payments can be made beginning the week before the Group Buy closes. Payment information will be sent via PM and can be made via PayPal or check. The Group Buy order will not be processed until all payments have been received.

Q: How long will it take to receive my sPOD unit after the Group Buy closes?

A: It generally takes up to 5-6 working days for buys up to 19 units and 6-14 working days for orders of 20-30+ units.

Q: I live in NorCal, but won't be able to pick up my kit in Alameda or won't be joining in on any trail runs or socials. Do I still have to pay double shipping (bulk shipping to Alameda and shipping to my home)?

A: Unfortunately, yes. Although members of NorCal FJs make every effort to make things convenient by setting up meeting times after a trail run or social, it is ultimately your responsibility to pay for additional shipping to your home if you cannot make arrangements to have someone pick up the kit for you.

Q: Is sales tax included in the group buy pricing chart?

A: No. Additional sales tax of 9.75% (LA County Sales Tax) will be added to the order.

Q: Can I get it without the switch panel?

A: The sPOD kit for the FJ does not come with a switch panel since the FJ already has switch ports in the center console and near the steering column.

Im in!
I'm almost definitely in, but since I didn't get a chance to actually look at the setup, it would be nice to see a pic of what an install looks like in an FJ. Based on the Jeep pics it looks like an awesome product. A search of the website and of the net didn't turn up any pictures, but I'm wondering if anyone that went to All Cal took pics?
here are some photos:

The Source unit: note plug n' play ease

switches on console:

switches next to steering column:

the switches come in a couple different colors...amber/orange, green and blue i believe. standard is amber, so if you want certain colors, you'll have to make a request.
Thanks for the pictures! OK After seeing that I am in. I'd like a sticker kit too if they can throw that in for a price... :-) I did find a picture of that on their website and it's very clean looking. Then all I'll need is a group buy price on rock lights, air compressor, smoke screen kit... and the list goes on...

the sticker kit is included. we are looking into doing a possible group buy on ORO rock lights...the set that was given away as a prize drawing at AllCal. the smoke screen kit is still in R&D...i'll get word from Lucius in a few years.
I think Lucas has a patent on smoke and electronics.

Can you post a full engine bay photo to get a idea how big it is in relation to the other items in the engine compartment.

This is Bozly's, it mounts on the passenger side fire wall. We also have a universal bracket that is in the pic as well.
Damn, this dude ought to clean the dust and dirt off everything to make the pod look good.

Never the less, this unit is the stuff. Easy install and easy hook up for anything with two wires, truly plug and play.
is there enough space to fit it together with a second battery (with a kit from DirtyParts) ?
Depending on the battery you use and how you mount it, yes. Some battery's stand too tall, that's why we offer a universal bracket. If your running off a second battery then you wouldn't need the Low Voltage Cut Off (LVCO) switch.
Thanks, this helps me gauge the footprint in the engine compartment.
Does it run in parallel to the original electric system ? Does it connect directly to the battery ?

I may be interested in this.
