FJ Cruisers of Northern California

So, many of you may recognize me from "forums on another channel" so to speak. After lurking around here for about a year, I've finally joined. What prompted me? Well, I just checked in here a little while ago to do more lurking, and I noticed a coincidence. A few weeks ago, my wife picked a weekend in September for us to "go to the east side" so I could have a man-day or two fishing. Gee, guess which weekend she picked? Yeppers, same one as the High Sierra Run. I don't know if we will be joining in on any of the events, but we will be staying in the area, and looking for everyone on the road.

I work in Yosemite National Park and stay here during the week, but my permanent home is in Clovis. I either go home on weekends or my wife comes up here. The FJ will stay relatively stock, for a variety of reasons, but mostly I want it to fit into my garage in Clovis, and if I raise it, my mother in-law couldn't get in it.

I'll certainly have fun learning how to use this forum. Apologies in advance for doing stupid newbie stuff.

Happy Trails,
David

Yose Hey Buddy How ya doing? I guess the rock slide missed y'all.....

Welcome aboard glad you signed up hope to see ya in the High Sierras we'll be camping up at Laurel Lakes this year

Cheers,

Bz
I was in Wawona when the rockfall happened above The Ahwahnee last week (on the same day the prescribed fire started getting "bonus acres"). When I got back to the valley, it kinda felt like the gates of hell were starting to open. Yet, everything was going as smoothly as possible. We joke here, that between the number of rockfalls, fires, floods, high wind warnings, snow storms, etc., Yosemite is undoubtedly better prepared to handle community emergencies than most anywhere else just because we are experienced at it.

I have a webcam on my house on the Ahwahnee Meadow that refreshes every 30 seconds. I'm told someone got stop action photos of the rockfall, but I haven't been able to track them down yet.

Cheers!
Welcome, hope to see you on the run.
Hey David, welcome to the goofiness.

Mod the garage to accommodate the mods to the FJ and I learned long ago a vehicle the mother in law can't get in is not all bad.

Have fun and hope to see ya on the East Side Run or any others in the near future.
Look forward to meeting you David.
Hi there David!

You had previously commented on my super-cool Yosemite plate, nice to see you here. I was going to give you a heads up the next time we hit Yosemite, but it looks like you beat me to it!

Hope to see you on this trip if just to say HI! Mark and I will be hitting Y again later this year, no doubt.

Cheers! - Ann
Oh yeah, I remember. Yeppers, stay in touch.
