Funtrek Books -now with GPS downloads

Granted Funtrek Publishing isn't local to NorCal, but most of us use their books to plan trail runs. Well now they have upped the ante and have added GPS downloads for the trails in the books.

The books are very well written and are a useful guide to plan trail runs. Overall this is a great resource to have on hand for any of your trail runs.

You can get these books at 4WP or directly from Funtrek and if you order them from Funtrek you can get them spiral bound. I find it's worth the extra couple bucks for the sprial bound since you can open them flat and not worry about destroying the binding.

Anyway I must say I could buy two "regular" books on amazon for the price of one with the spiral. When I go on a trail I just make photocopies or similar.

Yeah they are useful if you need to use the winch!!!

The best would be to have the book in PDF format and print out only the trail you are going to.

Thanks, I knew about the way-points and coordinates in the back of the book, but did not know about the gpx files.
I've been wanting to take my book to Kinko's to have it spiral bound since it is falling apart.
